In the fall of 2007 I made a goal of planting 1000 trees....
On Saturday January 22nd, I took part in a group work-day to plant trees and shrubs for the restoration of Irwin Creek in the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed, the annual "Tree-a-Thon" put on by the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation.
I planted 8 oaks, 3 ash, 1 box elder, 2 California blackberries, and 2 California rose. 500 native plants total were put in the ground that day.

Participated in a group tree planting on Saturday, February 12 for the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation. I planted over 70 willow sprigs along the Santa Rosa Laguna near Delta Pond and the bird rookery there. As a group, a total of well over 530 trees were sprigged. While working, I heard and saw many birds, including a bald eagle, and a large flock of pelicans, who circled over the pond then flew in a V-formation over the laguna.
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Malpighiales
Family: Salicaceae
