0021-0063: 43 Coast Redwoods

I took part in a two day tree planting workshop from January 9-10 in which dozens of students and volunteers planted a total of 1400 redwood trees in three locations. My weekend partner and I planted 43: 14 the first day at St. Dorothy's Rest and 29 the second day at SRJC's Shone Farm

Family: Cupressaceae (koo-press-AY-see-ay)
Genus: Sequoia (see-KWOY-uh)
Species: sempervirens (sem-per-VY-renz)
